What is the relationship between your experiences and ongoing artistic work to your curriculum and teaching?

Through my ongoing artistic work I have seen how it has influenced my curriculum and teaching. I am now more open to ideas, methods, and mediums that were introduced to me. As I continue to learn I think of better methods in order to teach what I have learned. I think its like a big cycle. The more I continue to learn, the more my teaching methods improve and grow.

How do you describe what you do as an artist.

As you know I am a photographer. So before I even click the shutter on the camera I do research into what I want to photograph and how to go about it. I look at several artists and media for inspiration. Believe it or not, I will wander into the library to help in my research. Its important that I keep updated and aware of the photography world around me since it is ever changing. I also have to think about composition, styling, lighting, ect. There is alot of work that goes into one shot! Then after I get my shot, I have to edit the photo. Correcting color balance, cropping, color combinations ect.
